Otto is a strange one.  I used to have a doll just like this a long time ago.  He's an Albert Price Imports "Chef" doll.  Mine had a red scarf around his neck, I think they were made for Chef Ettore Boiardi, or as we know him Chef Boy-ar-dee in the 1980s.  This guy, though, is not nearly as lovable and fun as MY doll which I might even still have here in the house somewhere.  I love him.  This guy is WAY too serious for his vessel.  he doesn't match his vessel at all.  And I think that is strange. Like WHY did he get into that vessel if he wasn't going to be as funny as he looks?!?  Right?  Maybe I am biased because of my own doll and how much I loved him.  But Otto just kind of leaves me guessing.  He was a chef from Germany and died of a heart attack when he was 45, that is YOUNG for a heart attack. He was discovered by some friends of ours who were working in an old restaurant in Manhattan, NYC.  The doll had been placed on top of the countertop by the previous owner.  The old owners told our friend they could take him, they had only had him up there for nostalgia.  Like having old Coca-Cola bottles up.  Otto made it clear that he did not want to be anywhere BUT inside of a kitchen.  Nobody wanted to be around him.  Everyone thought he was either an evil spirit or a troubled one.  Turns out he is neither, he is just a socially inept weird German guy who doesn't know how to do anything other than cook.  Think Gordon Ramsey but even less likable.  Otto had a horrific upbringing and he was scared of women so he vowed never to get married.  He knew he HAD to succeed at cooking or he would end up killing himself.  He did not want to live at home with his mother ever again.  He was good at it, he worked for numerous big-name restaurants.  He never moved up on any corporate ladders though, he was just not a friendly guy and people really did not like talking to him and vice versa.  So WHY choose a vessel that invites such friendly and jolly energies?  I think he is in there because of what he lacks in his own personality.  I think he wants people to see him as a funny happy guy, even though he absolutely is NOT that guy.  To be honest, it's sad.  All he wants is to be on top of your fridge, watching you cook, or better yet, sitting on your countertop.   That is all.  period.  he will communicate.  He will answer questions.  But he never offers anything up, he only responds to what we ask.  He doesn't KNOW how to start a conversation with a woman.  Mike tried one-on-one with him and did a bit better than we girls did.  But still.  Imagine a man so introverted and so socially awkward, that even in death he remained so.  I feel bad for him.  I truly hope he finds someone who can relate to him.  He is very ACTIVE - Lights flicker, the Wi-Fi goes off and on, and we have seen the channels change on the TV.  He changes his eyes and sometimes moves his wooden spoon.  You can feel how shy and awkward he feels, and it's kind of uncomfortable for everyone.  I do hope he finds someone he can totally vibe with.

About the doll:  Otto will NOT come with a doll stand.  He is an Albert Price Imports  Chef Ettore Boiardi (Chef Boy-Ar-Dee) vessel.  Made in 1965

IMPORTANT - If you look at a spirit doll and feel a tug in your heart, that is how you know the doll is meant for you. You will feel it in your soul. I can reserve a doll for you for up to 2 weeks while you decide. Email me with any questions you have regarding this doll, or haunted dolls in general.

FYI:  In my old shop, we had to have a disclaimer explaining that haunted items were "for entertainment purposes only" and this disclaimer is needed for some credit card processors as well - However, you need to know, as a potential buyer/adopter that I am NOT responsible for any paranormal activity that you might experience in your home once you adopt a spirit.  This is serious and many people who do not know what they are doing have had some pretty overwhelming experiences usually due to their own lack of knowledge or understanding about what it means to be a spirit keeper.  If you are under the age of 18, please do some research before trying to adopt a spirit.  As a seller, I will repeat, there are NO REFUNDS on haunted dolls - I will not guarantee that you will have the same experiences as I have had.  but if you know your stuff, do your research, and are prepared for anything, then you will!

Please read our Reviews as well as our FAQs. Thank you so much!
