Ellen came to us from some Paranormal Investigator friends in Nashville, TN.  They had been dealing with Ellen since they found her in a home they were working on.  The homeowner had been complaining of loud noises, "the sounds of a young girl crying" and things being moved around.  They were scared to death.  The group was hired to "cleanse" the home and see if they could find the cause.  They found the doll, and taking her out of the house only reduced some of the issues.  There were lots of spirits in that house.  Ellen was brought back and investigated, and all they could tell us was that Ellen "seemed to be troubled" and they did not like to leave her alone because "something always happened".  So they sent her to us.  Within days we could see what they meant about leaving her alone too long.  She has issues, but after her full evaluation, I think we understand more WHY she has these issues.  Ellen was young when she died, and she has been dead for a very long time.  We think she died in 1930.
She is a very traumatized 13-year-old.  She had a bad death, and she is kind of stuck in that loop until she can heal enough to get out of it.  Her father killed her, her brother, and her mother, in a botched murder-suicide, where he just could not pull the trigger on himself.  What a coward.  Her father had lost everything in the crash on Wall Street.  The great depression had only just begun and he did not want his family to suffer, at least that's what he said as he shot them.  Ellen had never been so scared.  She had never felt as alone as she did that day.  She still to this day doesn't like to be left alone for too long.  She will move things, cry, open drawers, close doors, knock on windows, get the dogs to bark, ANYTHING to get you to pay attention to her.  I think she even chose this doll to get attention.  This doll represents everything she did not have: good clothes, clean hair, a smiling face.  She always felt she was "homely" because her father told her she was "too ugly to get a husband so she better learn a trade".  She was about 10 when he began to tell her this.  Her mother always told her he was only joking, but those words stuck with her forever.  Literally forever.  Ellen has a bit of culture shock when seeing things like phones, TVs, and technology.  She thinks it's all magic or something.  She has a hard time wrapping her head around the fact that she has been dead so long, which is understandable, she is very uneducated for her age.  Ellen is/was a wild teenager, in as much as she sometimes feels like she has the energy of ten horses, just running around, getting into everything in the house.  She says she used to get "the switch" (getting beat with a stick) from her father when she would run around the house, but she could not help it. She always had a lot of energy.  If she had been born into this generation, I am 100% sure she would have been diagnosed with anxiety and ADHD.  Ellen needs a loving and VERY attentive caregiver.  She is not the kind of vessel that is just going to be ok with being left on a shelf somewhere.  She will break your shit.  She will make a mess, she will scare your animals until you give her the attention she needs.  She would never hurt your pets, but she loves to make them bark.  She LOVED to make my dogs bark by knocking on the glass and making them think we had someone at the front door.  Ellen is pretty traumatized by what her father did to the family.  She can share some pretty awful memories and sometimes gives us nightmares.  The nightmares are not meant to be terrifying, they are meant to show us exactly what she went through.  She is sharing her story,  She is just trying to be understood.  It explains why she doesn't like to be alone.  There is a lot of fear and stress energy with her, but also she can show a lot of love and happiness, as long as she is cared for well and allowed to have her moments when she needs to.   She is a sweet but very troubled girl who needs as much love as she can get.  She does very well when placed with older child spirits.  She just needs an understanding caregiver.  Ellen does really well with a pendulum or the PSB7, and she has even done some automatic writing, mostly drawings but she seems to enjoy that.  She loves books, music, and movies from the late 1920s.  Ellen is a good girl with a good heart, she just needs extra care.  She loves to be talked to, and she needs that sort of interaction every single day.  She would do really well with a caregiver who talks out loud to their spirits.  She loves that, and it makes her feel included.  Please do not ever leave her on a shelf to be ignored.

About the doll:  She is a 15" French repro vessel and she will come with a doll stand.

I can reserve a doll for you for up to 2 weeks while you decide. Email me with any questions you have regarding this doll, or haunted dolls in general.

FYI:  In my old shop, we had to have a disclaimer explaining that haunted items were "for entertainment purposes only" and this disclaimer is needed for some credit card processors as well - However, you need to know, as a potential buyer/adopter that I am NOT responsible for any paranormal activity that you might experience in your home once you adopt a spirit.  This is serious and many people who do not know what they are doing have had some pretty overwhelming experiences usually due to their own lack of knowledge or understanding about what it means to be a spirit keeper.  If you are under the age of 18, please do some research before trying to adopt a spirit.  As a seller, I will repeat, there are NO REFUNDS on haunted dolls - I will not guarantee that you will have the same experiences as I have had.  but if you know your stuff, do your research, and are prepared for anything, then you will!
