We have had Essie for a long time.  Lisa always loved her because communicating with her was like listening to a true crime podcast or watching Nightline.  Her story could happen to anyone.  She was originally found in Wales, England.  Essie seems scared lately and that makes me feel bad.  The house is experiencing its chaos season a bit early.  We have had quite a few extra special super actives in here lately, and Essie is certainly one of them.  She doesn't like the chaos here.  She likes to sit and read books, listen to music, sew, and basically relax with her caregiver.  She has already been through so much.  She is kind of stuck in her death memory, and we have been working on pulling her out of that.  Essie had a very charmed life which made her death even more traumatic, in my opinion.  She was from a "good family" in Wales, and she was adored by her friends and family.  She was very well taken care of and everyone loved her.  She was a master seamstress, even as a younger teen - by the time she was 17, she could sew ball gowns.  Everyone thought she would end up designing for one of the major fashion houses in Italy.  She had planned on going to university there.  Essie did have a school boyfriend whom she liked a lot, but not enough to marry.  Her parents knew she wanted a career and not a husband right away, and they supported that because of her amazing talent.  This was pretty rare in the 70s.  Her parents were much more progressive than most.  Essie's high school boyfriend, Tom, however, was not cut from the same cloth, and neither were his parents.  Tom proposed to her on the eve of her 18th birthday.  Essie was shocked.  She had told Tom she was not interested in marriage and had wanted a career after college.  He treated her as if he hadn't heard a word she said for the 3 years they had dated.  She was heartbroken and very confused as to how he could not have understood what she had been saying for so long.  It was like her emotions had hit a brick wall.  When she told him no, he punched her so hard, that her head was spinning, and her nose immediately began to bleed.  She demanded to be taken home - but Tom got scared.  He took her to his home instead.  When his parents saw her and heard Tom's explanation, they immediately took Tom's side.  His father locked her in the basement and his mother hid all of her things, her purse and her sweatshirt.  Later, she would plant them in a park to make it look like she disappeared there.  When Essie didn't come home, her parents asked Tom's family where they were, and they lied and said Tom was out of town and they had not seen Essie.  Meanwhile, they had Essie in the basement, tormenting her, raping her, and mutilating her - never planning on her seeing the light of day.  When she finally died of her injuries - they tossed her body into the lake at the park where Tom's mother had ditched her belongings.  Think about this - Essie was so shocked that a human being could be so cruel, much less an entire family of deviants.  She did not know people like this existed.  Her shock is palpable even now, 50 years later.  She has so much trauma related to what happened to her, and I think I would too - had it been me.  It was her first heartbreak, her first big life lesson on shitty men, and her first terrifying lesson on psychopathic people all in one day.  So when we talk to her, we offer her little sewing notions, books, and a cup of tea, and she lets us hear her story.  She communicates very easily using telepathy or any of the usual tools.  She likes to feel like she is truly being heard.  She likes to gently touch my forearm sometimes as if she is leaning in to talk to me so nobody else can hear if that makes sense.  She feels like she is to blame for all of this.  She thinks if she had just agreed to marry him, she would still be alive. Essie is extremely intuitive and I feel like she is a really good friend, if that makes sense.  She unloads her trauma on us, but she also has this energy like we know she is listening to us also.  Its like we are all old friends here.  She likes folky, soapy, guitar music from the early 1970s.   She does really great with light-up balls, the PSB7 spirit box, and the pendulum.  The Ouija has worked well with her as well.  I personally think she will tell you everything she wants you to know via dreams or visions.  Her telepathy is on point.  She makes herself be heard.

About the doll: she is a 17" Albert Price Imports Doll.  I have a personal theory that spirits tend to be drawn to Albert Price vessels and I do not know why.  She will come with a doll stand.

FYI:  In my old shop, we had to have a disclaimer explaining that haunted items were "for entertainment purposes only" and this disclaimer is needed for some credit card processors as well - However, you need to know, as a potential buyer/adopter that I am NOT responsible for any paranormal activity that you might experience in your home once you adopt a spirit.  This is serious and many people who do not know what they are doing have had some pretty overwhelming experiences usually due to their own lack of knowledge or understanding about what it means to be a spirit keeper.  If you are under the age of 18, please do some research before trying to adopt a spirit.  As a seller, I will repeat, there are NO REFUNDS on haunted dolls - I will not guarantee that you will have the same experiences as I have had.  but if you know your stuff, do your research, and are prepared for anything, then you will!
