Mari has been in my collection for a decade, maybe longer.  She has always been a pain in the butt.  She is nosy as hell, always touching people, and can scare the crap out of anyone who glances at her if she so desires.  She is bitchy when we communicate with her as if we are supposed to be at her back and call.  It has come to the point where we had to put her upstairs on a wall that we rarely walk by.  She was getting aggressive with us.  She needs a lot of attention and we only have a busy house on the weekends.  That's not enough for her.  She needs a bar, like where she used to live.  She came from our friend in New Orleans, the same guy who sends us most of our haunted masks.  He collects them from around the world and hangs them in his bar.  When he clashes with one of them, or gets tired of them, he sends them to us.  Now we have the same problem.  This girl Mari, she has an overinflated ego, to put it lightly.  She thinks very highly of herself.  She has even tried to show us how wealthy she was when she was alive.  I think that backfired on her though, because from that exchange, we learned that she was PUT into this mask involuntarily, most likely for being such a bitch, but we could not confirm.  She lived in the French Quarter, and we know she dabbled in love potions and things like that.  So we know she would have gone into one of the many voodoo or magick shops in town, there were many back in the 60s.  If I had to guess, and I am 99% sure I am right, I would say she owed money to a conjurer, and when she died, she ended up paying her dues.  Mari seems like the kind of woman who would have insulted many people in her lifetime and had many enemies.  She was a spoiled woman and we do not know how she died, but it doesn't seem like she was murdered.  She was young, though, maybe 33.  It's not like it was way far back in history either, this was in the early 1960s.  She doesn't care to tell or show us these details.  She takes her communication sessions seriously and positions herself to show us her wealth or her stature in society instead of who she really is as a person.  And that tells us quite a bit about her.  She is grabby, she is overly sexual, but it's an act.  She wants attention and she will resort to sexual touching if that's what it takes to get the attention she seeks.  She is high maintenance.  We get a lot of voices from her, a French-accented lady's voice and another voice that is far more cajun sounding.  She likes to blow candles out for effect.  She l;ikes to "perform" for people.  She needs a new home.  She is draining me.

IMPORTANT - If you look at a spirit doll and feel a tug in your heart, that is how you know the doll is meant for you. You will feel it in your soul.  FYI:  In my old shop, we had to have a disclaimer explaining that haunted items were "for entertainment purposes only" and this disclaimer is needed for some credit card processors as well - However, you need to know, as a potential buyer/adopter that I am NOT responsible for any paranormal activity that you might experience in your home once you adopt a spirit.  This is serious and many people who do not know what they are doing have had some pretty overwhelming experiences usually due to their own lack of knowledge or understanding about what it means to be a spirit keeper.  If you are under the age of 18, please do some research before trying to adopt a spirit.  As a seller, I will repeat, there are NO REFUNDS on haunted dolls - I will not guarantee that you will have the same experiences as I have had.  but if you know your stuff, do your research, and are prepared for anything, then you will!
