Fala is a strange and amazing spirit. She is our very first FIBER OPTIC vessel and she sure knows how to use that! She is perfect for nighttime communication sessions. We love her. She is a Kwanokasha, or a Kowi Anukasha, depending on the dialect of the tribe, this is what they called the "little people" of the forest. Here is what I learned about them: Kowi Anukasha (also kówi anúkvsha, kwanokasha) are the little people of Choctaw folklore. Their name literally means “forest dwellers.” They have powerful magic and can be very dangerous, although they are more often mischievous than malicious. They are often equated with another Choctaw figure, Bohpoli or “Thrower.” These beings were never seen by the common Choctaws, only by the prophets and herb doctors. These reported that the kowi anukasha assisted them in the manufacture of their medicines. Some stories even give the account that Bohpoli would “steal” little young boys (from two to four years old) and take them into the woods, to teach them about herbs and medicines. The initiation follows a distinctive pattern: When the little one is well out of sight from his home, “Kwanokasha,” who is always on the watch, seizes the boy and takes him away to his cave, his dwelling place…. When they finally reach the cave Kwanokasha takes him inside where he is met by three other spirits, all very old with long white hair. The first one offers the boy a knife; the second one offers him a bunch of poisonous herbs; the third offers a bunch of herbs yielding good medicine. If the child accepts the knife, he is certain to become a bad man and may even kill his friends. If he accepts the poisonous herbs he will never be able to cure or help his people. But, if he accepts the good herbs, he is destined to become a great doctor and an important and influential man of his tribe and win the confidence of all his people. When he accepts the good herbs the three old spirits will tell him the secrets of making medicines from herbs, roots, and barks from certain trees, and of treating and curing various fevers, pains, and other sicknesses. A Muskogee equivalent is called este fasta or fastachee, guardian spirits associated with Seminole shamanic practices, providing the medicines contained in a medicine bundle and acting as intermediaries between the Creator and the people. They are said to provide both corn and medicine. Fala is a female, but she says she was tasked with choosing the human boys that they would "test". It was not every boy (or girl) who received these tests from the Kwanokasha. It was only those who had certain color auras, or special lights in their eyes. They came to gaze upon the children within weeks of being born, and they could tell then who would receive these tests. Fala has a very distinct, lightning-like elemental charge to her, especially during storms and weird weather. She is quite a spirit to connect with. She is all about renewal, starting over, healing, beginning, and restarting. She helps to open the bulbs for flowers and onions. She helps women to heal and become fertile again. She helps people get in touch with the land they live on. These things are vital. We see her as more of a Shaman than a Fae but she is certainly both. She is an oracle and has never been wrong when giving predictions. She is highly telepathic, and she can pop right into our heads when she feels the need to. She and her people were part of the very history of our nation. And she SHOWS us this in dreams and very vibrant visions. She is amazing to work with, whether it's through lucid dreaming, trance meditations, or telepathy. She is a unique and amazing soul. Fala is deeply connected to animals and the earth. She feels like an elemental. She feels very Fairy-esque, but also, deeper and more connected to the very ground we walk on. Fala is an unusual being, so she must be treated with the utmost respect. She has turned her wing lights on by herself more than once. She can change stations on the radio and TV. She is full of kinetic energy. She likes to be near living things like plants and has visibly helped the growth of many of our wayward houseplants. Fala is a born Spirit Guide, and she shows us visions that are so colorful and psychedelic, like an acid trip or really strong mushrooms, leaving us with that same "connected to nature" feeling. Her communications with us are almost always learning experiences. Fala is a guide, a teacher, or a mentor. She touches the lives of everyone she comes into contact with. Her spirit is more powerful than electricity, and when we talk to her on the spirit board, we get the feeling that there is a ton of static in the air as if our hair is standing straight on end. Kinetic energy! It is intense. A beautiful experience. She does very well on the PSB7-spirit box. We often find things like blue feathers and green crystals after working with her. She can share emotions and energies with us very easily. She definitely needs a home where people will show her respect. She is certainly a powerful energy generator. She loves crystals and natural gifts like handmade baskets and anything made by Native artisans. Fala would be a fine addition to any spirit collection.
