Cheryl is a sad and serious young woman. I assume she is young(er) because she is very childlike, but she has said that she had children, so she must be older than she presents herself. We think she might have regressed a bit from the trauma of her death. She is still suffering, still reeling from what happened to her, and it's been a long time now. We think she died in 1995. We got Cheryl from a researcher in Nebraska who had found her in a shop in Grand Rapids, Iowa. She could tell there was a spirit attached but she could never pin down a name or age, and by the time we got the info, she had decided not to get her back from us. She did not want to be responsible for helping Cheryl with her trauma. And I respect that. She had her boundaries. At first, I thought it would be really hard to help Cheryl, but as we researched more and found out more about what happened to her, we have been able to take baby steps to help Cheryl deal with everything that has happened. It's slow-going, but there is progress. Cheryl talks about her championship roller skating days and how fun that was. But then she got into a bad romance, and had a "bunch of kids". Her addictions got the best of her and she resorted to sex work after 2 of her kids were taken away for neglect. She had difficulty even saying this to us for fear of judgment. We don't judge here. She told us about the sex work, the crimes, the things she got into on the streets. We understand all that. She seemed to be able to relax and talk to us. What she can't get past though, is that she was killed by someone she knew and liked. She had a "regular" and she really liked him. She thought he was fun and they always had a good time together. She really thought she could see herself settling down with him. he always talked to her about his big dreams. He made promises to come get her and get her off the streets. When he did show up, after months of being gone, he was so violent with her, that she was shocked. She is STILL in shock. She has seen some sh*t being on the streets and even had her fair share of sexual violence, but this was unreal. It took her years to realize that she was in fact, deceased. She did not want to believe that he had done this to her. Cheryl was SO stuck in her disbelief and sadness that she kind of regressed back to a little girl for a bit, which is why she chose this vessel, it reminds her of herself as a child, and her children (before she got hooked on cocaine). Cheryl was molested by a relative as a kid, and we think that had a lot to do with everything. She is getting so much better though, her progress is amazing. She is more communicative, and more "mature" in our conversations, back when we first got her she was talking like a child, but she is getting so much better. I feel so bad for her. I can not imagine what she has been through and how badly it has affected her. The caregiver she needs next has to be someone who is going to listen to her, communicate with her, and allow her to heal in her own time. She has to find a new home, and it has to be THE RIGHT HOME. She needs a "friend" type of caregiver, someone who can easily pick up on her needs, and feel the intense emotion she pushed out into the room. She needs someone who has the time and energy to sit with her and BE PRESENT for her, as often as she wants it, she needs that. We have had a lot of movements with her, manifestations of a woman in the house, opening drawers, going through my clothes in the closet, and looking at books. She loves my makeup drawers and all my perfume bottles. The Ouija is great with her, she is also very telepathic so that helps. We have used the PSB7 and the pendulum with her with great results. She needs a friend.
