Kelaina is a little powerhouse. She says she is a "maiden of Hecate" as most good guardian spirits are, I have noticed as of late. She is little, but she is mighty. She has been here for YEARS. I kept trying to let her go during October Madness, but NO, I ended up keeping her for YEARS. We got her from a witch in New Orleans. Lisa used to have a working relationship with a woman who did conjures for us back when she helped me run the shop. Kelaina used to be a prostitute! Fun Fact! She thinks its funny how the word is so taboo now, and how, back in the day, it was one of the ONLY jobs a woman could get. Widows, orphans, and "discarded" women really had few choices back then. And we are talking about New Orleans at the turn of the century, so there was a shortage of women to begin with. Many brothel workers ended up "rescued" from the brothel because men wanted wives and there were literally NONE. Most of these men were fur trappers and did not give one shit about what "society" thought of them. Now historians would argue that no self-respecting man would ever marry a prostitute, but these French fur trappers did not care. They needed a woman to have kids with and cook. Simple math. Kelaina got stuck with a charmer. Too good to be true. He was fine for a few months and then he began to show his true colors. She felt he was "under Satan's spell" and she had to "do the right thing" and poison him. She says it very sweetly, very kindly. She then took over his fur trapping business and lived her life very peacefully until she died of Consumption at age 34. She urges more women to take the necessary steps to protect themselves. No matter what the cost. Kelaina is the epitome of what we think of as a "good witch", someone who never judges you, is always there to protect you, and will fight to the death to protect you. She is a witchy guardian angel, with a sordid past (my favorite kind of person). Kelaina reads people like a book, a skill she honed at the brothel. She teaches us in the ways we need to be taught, she knows how we learn best. She helps us to become the gifted spiritual beings that we are meant to be. Her energy is impressive. Especially when it comes to Lucid Dreaming and other Astral Artistry. She is a very powerful communicator, either by tools or by direct, mind-to-mind telepathy. She shows us a lot of strange esoteric imagery and old New Orleans mansions and things of that nature. I certainly think of her as a Mystic Mage and an Oracle. She has told us about specific events weeks before they happened. She has not been wrong since we began communicating with her. Kelaina hates negative energy and will do her best to banish it. She can sense evil from a mile away. Remember this one was an actual sex worker so you know she knows how to read the room. Kelaina is excellent with telepathy, and she can pop right into your head. She likes to do things with EVPs and electronics. She is big on synchronicities and coincidences. We adore her. She is a powerful little guardian. Be careful because she hates bad energy, bad choices, and bad people. So make sure you really know who your friends and family are, if not, she will hurt your feelings when she does.
