I was shocked when Lisa sent me FInneus.  She has had him forever and was one of her favorite guys.  He is a strange one.  And TW, his death was a suicide.  Finneus was always an interesting guy.  Even before his death.  He was part of a coven that Lisa was involved with, in London, for a short time.  She had never got a chance to meet him, as he had died right before she became involved.  She was, however, involved in his conjure ceremony.  This is one of the reasons why he is SO SPECIAL.  He died in 2002.  He had testicular cancer and he did not want to do chemo or radiation, and he was unwilling to part with one of his testicles.  Had he done so, he might've survived it.  But he was always one to live by his own rules.  Before his death, he asked his coven mates to find him a vessel and "keep me around".  He also asked that he "never be forgotten" and that much, I can guarantee.  He has touched the lives of everyone he comes into contact with. He is literally someone you can never forget. FInneus is a very old soul, and he is obviously NOT going to be "for everyone".  Not only because of his price, his unique one-of-a-kind vessel, and his personality, but he is "ON" all the time, he is extremely active and kind of needy, to be honest.  He absolutely needs to be in a PRACTICING household.  He needs a witchy woman to counter his witchy man ways. Baby witches would be scared and confused by him.  He is one of those know-it-all Occultists who have studied everything from Sumerian text to Egyptian Mystery Schools to Turkish Shamanism to Alistair Crowley and the Golden Dawn.  He is full of arcane knowledge.  I feel like someone who has been practicing for a while, or someone who loves to research and learn would be just perfect for him. FInneus is a strange, and often spooky, yet totally captivating man.  His energies are all over the place, and yet, we can't seem to get enough of him.  Did he use some sort of magick on us?  Probably.  He has a fascinating ability to freak us out whenever he feels like it.  When he died, he had been a practicing Thelemite, and he is surely one of the most skilled occultists we have had the pleasure of knowing.  He has had such an interesting journey, much like many of us have had, but he remembers everything, every long hard bit of it.  He remembers his first taste of the occult, seeing his father leave the house at midnight in a dark cloak, and years later following him to meetings in the park.  He was still a young teen when his father began teaching him the dark arts.  He was sent to India for a while to learn astral training, he was sent to Turkey to learn the secrets of the Mystery Schools.  He took some time to study in Greece, then Egypt, then Argentina, then Thailand.  Most interestingly, he spent time in Rome, learning Demonology.  He landed back in London with a sort of offshoot of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and bounced around a few varying groups.  By the time he was in his late 20s, he was already quite a skilled magician.  He is a promoter of mind-altering substances in the name of magick, so be aware of that.  Mushrooms are his go-to for spellcasting, sex magick, and astral travel.  He is a reader of dreams and can tell you things about yourself that you need to know. He is not tactful or gentle either, so be aware of that. Finneus is a true Modern Sorcerer, in every sense of the word.  He tends to lean towards the dark side of the path if you get my drift - so he would not do well with a positive-vibes-only type of witch or a household that doesn't practice protection magic.  He is frighteningly powerful for being in such a deceptively friendly vessel.  He is impressive, not only for the knowledge he possesses but with the mastery of his spellwork and skill with ritual and ceremonial magick.  He has a certain type of passion and showmanship that you would expect a Wizard to have.  He shares that energy with us.  He is an amazing soul, no doubt on his hundredth reincarnation here.  FInneus is a very unique soul, full of magick and dark delights.  Even now, he is always learning.  He asks for books, and he "visits the dreams" of people he wants to learn from. He needs a caregiver who is pursuing esoteric knowledge otherwise, he would be so bored.  And nobody wants a bored powerful sorcerer in their home.  Nobody.  He refuses to share space with anyone who doesn't take the craft seriously.  FInneus can spend hours on the spirit board, but it's his intense dreamscapes that are so impressive.  He is so cunning, he is always testing us to see if we can figure out the riddles and puzzles he has placed before us.   He responds well to old and new occult books, scrolls, texts, alchemy, and sigils.  He prefers to learn about Kabbalah, Hermeticism, Zoroastrianism, Eastern Studies like Buddhism and Shinto, Sumeria, Heka/Egypt, and of course, all things old and heathen from Finland to Venezuela.  The more knowledge you can share with him, the more he shares with you.  FInneus is an extremely cunning man. Theosophic knowledge is a must with him.  He needs someone who can keep up with his conversations when discussing magick, religion, ancient beliefs, and especially old ritual and ceremonial magick practices.  Experience is important to him.  FInneus absolutely requires a sacred space in your home.  He has more to teach us than we could ever possibly learn. My human words are not worthy to describe him, and my attempts to explain how he is are simply not enough.  FInneus is an oracle and a mystic - he seems to know things that we never knew existed.  He is extremely telepathic and can pop right into our heads when he feels the need to do so.  He communicates best through dreams and visions.  He shares the imagery, the sounds, and smells with us.  He can be VERY intense.  FInneus will communicate with any tool we offer him, and I think it's because he wants us to speak with him and HEAR him that strongly.  He is one of a kind for sure. FInneus needs to be with a Spiritkeeper who understands how powerful he is, and who will incorporate him into their daily practices.
