Nellie is a strange and complicated individual, and this is why I really connected with her.  She has been through too much, and I feel for her.  Despite all of what you are about to read, Nellie really wants friends and she can be really fun once you connect with her.  She tries to be a guardian spirit, but she NEEDS her own guardian human.  But the point is, she tries.  She has always been considered "eccentric" but her family did not have money, so she couldn't go get the help she obviously needed.  She was given to us by a friend in California, and the doll vessel showed up bare-naked.  It was like a naked cat doll.  It took me MONTHS to find a dress that would work on her.  When I put it on her, she laughed and we could all "feel" it.  My husband said WHAT was THAT.  It was a strange emotional sharing moment when we all felt the rising of a belly laugh inside of us.  My teammates were impressed.  It was a very powerful feeling.  We have all felt a little bit of that with child spirits and others, but never to that degree.  She made us all "create" our own belly laugh out of nothing.  That was what first drew me to her.  And she has always been a favorite after that.  She continues to make laughs for us.  Nellie grew up dirt poor in central California.  Her parents were poor, and her grandparents before her were even worse off.  The family had come to California in the 1940s for work.  They never found anything meaningful. The grandparents lived in a small shack outside of a farm in Kern River, and would often do work for that farmer in exchange for rent. They had Nellies mother and the cycle continued, Nellies mother and father took over the farm work when the grandparents could not work any longer.  The entire family was in distress from day one.  Nellie's mother most likely did not get enough food when she was pregnant, and when Nellie was born she had a ton of medical issues.  The family assumed she would die, as they had lost a few other children prior to, and after her birth.  Nellie was born in 1958, and she somehow eeked through her early childhood, despite being sickly the entire time.  As she blossomed into girlhood, the mental health issues became more prevalent.  They never once thought she might be reacting to something or might have a legitimate medical issue, and if they did think that, they certainly were not going to do anything about it.  Doctors cost money.  Her grandparents and parents all shared that 3 bedroom shack.  There was NO money.  She and her siblings shared a room above the shed.  The family was NOT close.  Her memories feel so cold and closed off.  There was no love there.  Not knowing what to do about it her family just brushed off her quirks as "cute eccentricities".  They worried that she would never marry or work, and her father was very concerned that she would be a permanent burden.  Imagine KNOWING that your father thought that about you.  Nellie was victimized and abused by the local boys and especially the farmhands who would come up for the summers and leave in the winters.  When she became pregnant at age 18, her father knew he had to do something about her.  She had already shown signs of paranoia, hallucinating, and being off in her own dreamland, and he was worried her child would have worse issues.  He paid one of the farmhands to strangle her.  Her very pregnant body was pushed into the Kern River.  Nellie has NO memories of anyone mourning her, or even looking for her.  She thought she was "of the water" for a long time after she died, and then she found the doll.  She has the mental capacity of a 9 or 10-year-old girl.  She has been assaulted and abused and you can guess all the traumas she has had to deal with.  There is a deep sense of malnutrition, and when we communicate with her, we always feel so hungry.  So hungry.  Its a sad, empty, never-knowing-fullness kind of feeling.  Extreme poverty feeling.  If you have never known that, bless your heart.  Those of you who have suffered that fate know what I am talking about.  Can't even sleep right because your body is craving the minerals it needs to survive.  It's SUCH a rough life, what she went through.  It would have been more merciful had her father done this to her sooner so she wouldn't have had to go through the trauma of getting raped and molested by strange men before her death.   Nellie is SUCH a strong emotional sharing vessel that I really hope she goes to a mature and experienced caregiver.  She is unusual and at times can be very dramatic when showing us what she has been through.  She changes her eyes a lot as we communicate with her.  Nellie has wild mood swings and she is very active in terms of motions, movements, and noises.   She creates WIND-like spinning whiffs of air and dust.  She can make the whole house feel what she wants us to feel: a laugh, a cry, pain, hunger.  She goes from a vulnerable abused girl to a tough girl trying to survive mode.  When she is feeling stable she can be so fun.  She laughs and makes us all laugh, she sings.  She moves things. She WANTS to be seen so much, I am worried someone will put her on YouTube or something because I feel even though she is extremely active, in this situation, it would be exploitative to put her out for the world to see like that.  Her personalities compete with each other, along with her various moods.  Her trauma responses usually lead the way.  And can you blame her for that?  No.  Sometimes all she needs is to be held and talked to.  She needs love, a friend, a soothing caregiver, and someone who cares about her.  Her emotional sharing doesn't end when you shut the door.   We can feel her throughout the house.  We all have our quirks, and hers is mostly trauma responses and anxiety.  We get a lot of kinetic activity with her.  Lots of sounds, voices, footsteps, and even singing and old music from the 50s and 60s.  She communicates well on the pendulum, and she seems to LOVE messing with electronics like the PSB7 and apps on the phone.  She is very communicative in various ways.  She is a gifted telepathic communicator too.  Nellie needs someone willing to understand her and love her.  She is complicated and will need a very understanding caregiver.
