Gladys is a favorite of mine, and I honestly tried to think of ways I could keep her instead of putting her in the shop right now. But she FORCED my hand because she felt she HAS to get out there and DO SOMETHING.  We got her years ago from the Georgia Coven.  Maybe 10 years now?  Gladys is an old Appalachian Folk Woman, she's a healer, a midwife, and a Cunning-Woman.  A rare thing around these parts, but common where she's from.  "All the women who are smart enough to live long know much the same that I know".  These folks lived RURAL, more rural than ME.  They had to grow their own food, there was no grocery store.  They had to birth their own kids, there was no hospital or doctor's offices.  She had to make her own medicines or they would've all died from infection and disease.  She talks very matter-of-factly.  There is an air of "doesn't everybody know that" when I ask her questions.  I know she thinks I am dumb as hell because I ask so many questions, but I am fascinated.  My family on my dad's side is from "the other upside of the mountain" from where she is from, and my grandmother and Gladys lived in similar environments.  Gladys lived a hundred years before my grama though.  Gladys is rough, she's got a leathery face when she shows herself.  She likes to pop in and see us in glass and mirror reflections.  She has scared the holy crap out of me many times, and I can tell she doesn't mean to, "she's just checkin' in on me".  Gladys is a caregiver, a nurturer, and most importantly, a guardian.  She is a weather witch, and says her "kin" are the only family up on the mountain who could "switch the winds".  Her grandmother and mother taught her the skills, and people in the community would bring her trinkets in exchange for whatever "switchin'" they needed.   From how she describes it, she would just "raise the power of the ground and throw it in the direction she wanted it to go".  Sounds like manipulation of energies to me!  Gladys had 9 children, and you read that right.  NINE.  She said 3 of them died before they reached one year, and one of them died from fever as a teenager.  But all of them, their descendants and kids, still live in the same area to this day, and all of them know how to "switch the winds".  Gladys is a strange and wondrous woman. Very grandmotherly, very nurturing.  But she is not sweet in a loving mother kind of way, in fact, she's rather harsh and hard on a person - but it's for the best.  This is just how she is, how she was raised.  She is a no-nonsense type of person.  She won't sugarcoat a thing, why would she?  If your man is a lazy cheat, you are going to know it, and she won't be easy with her words.  So be aware of that.  I know some people can't handle the truth unless it's handed over on a silver platter - you won't get that from her.  You kinda need to be ready for some harsh realities.  She seems to know things that she could never know - personal things about each one of us.  Stuff we would never talk about.  She knows. It's more than just "reading" us, she somehow KNOWS everything about us, even the things we keep to ourselves.   You can not keep a secret from this woman, so don't even try.  Gladys is old.  She is a wise old crone who knows better than you, so respect that. She has been AROUND.  There is no doubt of that.  She's old-school, and I mean OLD SCHOOL.  She is a powerful communicator - she uses dreams in a frighteningly fantastic way.  Everything about her is kind of intimidating but in an "if you aren't careful, she just might kick your ass" kind of way.  Like someone's grandma who WILL use a wooden spoon to beat your ass for accidentally cussing.  You always feel like you better be on your best behavior around her, but then again, you WANT to be - she commands that grandmotherly respect and it becomes involuntary.   Believe it or not, this woman will change your life.  She comes in, checks everything out, and then gets to work, just like a determined grandmother.  Gladys has the esoteric knowledge to get things done.  Even as she is shaking her head at you for NOT knowing how to yourself.  She is a powerful Dreamweaver.  Almost scary.  The kind of dreams that leave you shaking and sweaty and grabbing the notebook to write it all down before it goes away.  Gladys generates energy when she feels like it.  She is extremely telepathic and can POP right into my mind, either visually or audibly.  She is a natural guardian, and not just for the household, but also for the land you occupy.  She will warn you if there are spirits there who can negatively affect you or your kids or pets.   She has used the PSB7 spirit box, the Ouija, and the pendulum to communicate.  I feel like she should go to someone who will make an effort to hear her, listen to her, and show respect.   I feel like she is able to KNOW us before we ever think about knowing her. And that is powerful. Gladys loves brooches, as you can see from her outfit.  She likes to get them as offerings.  She also likes for YOU to leave tobacco for her - loose leaf - in a bowl next to her.  She uses the tobacco for everything.  Divination, mostly.  Almost like tea-leaf reading but she uses no water.  Gladys would like to be somewhere that she is going to feel needed.  She has mentioned she would like to be closer to the east coast but it's not a deal breaker.  I know she would like to be near children and child spirits, this is where her grandmotherly traits come through the most.  She is a guardian after all.  

About the doll:  She is OLD, made from cloth. She will not come in a doll stand as she is made to sit

IMPORTANT - If you look at a spirit doll and feel a tug in your heart, that is how you know the doll is meant for you. You will feel it in your soul.  FYI:  In my old shop, we had to have a disclaimer explaining that haunted items were "for entertainment purposes only" and this disclaimer is needed for some credit card processors as well - However, you need to know, as a potential buyer/adopter that I am NOT responsible for any paranormal activity that you might experience in your home once you adopt a spirit.  This is serious and many people who do not know what they are doing have had some pretty overwhelming experiences usually due to their own lack of knowledge or understanding about what it means to be a spirit keeper.  If you are under the age of 18, please do some research before trying to adopt a spirit.  As a seller, I will repeat, there are NO REFUNDS on haunted dolls - I will not guarantee that you will have the same experiences as I have had.  but if you know your stuff, do your research, and are prepared for anything, then you will!
