Rae has been part of our personal collection for a long time. I never really wanted to rehome her, but Lisa recently sent me a HUGE box of special vessels and now we are scrambling to make room and make decisions on who to keep. I have a feeling that someone out there is looking for a companion just like Rae. She is kind of needy, and almost always sad, but she is a smart young lady, and always up for communication sessions. I think she has always been kind of depressed. She had been in and out of various institutions, various asylums and hospitals because her father was worried he wouldn't be able to "marry her off" if she was always crying. I think she had clinical depression before that was even a diagnosis in most doctors minds. She took her own life, by accident, by mixing pills with alcohol. Rae has an air of sandess that even she gets sick of most the time. She thinks she was just born with a sad heart. In modern times, she would have been treated for clinical depression, but back then, everything could be fixed with enough shock treatments or walks around a garden. I feel bad for Rae, because she reallly never enjoyed a minutre of her life, but she enjoys her afterlife quite a bit. You can still feel her heavy emotions but they dont bother her as much. Rae likes to read. She was teased for being a reader back in her day. Women were not supposed to read. She never felt any kind of closeness with her parents or siblings, most likely due to her depression. We have talked about how much they learned about depression and the various chemicals in the brain, and she is really fascinated by modern research on the subject. Rae is extremely smart and needs someone who will treat her like an equal and communicate with her regularly. She is SUCH an old soul and so communicative. It's like she WANTS us to talk to her and know her story. She does well with getting a lot of attention. She has an impressive intelligence that sets her apart from other spirits we have known from the same era. She came from a well off family, and her father was ready to arrange her marriage, but she was never "welll enough". Always being treated for various "womens ailments" for things like "melancholy" and "the vapors". Rae always knew something was wrong with her, but she was smart enough to know it wasn't "melancholy". She just thought she was born different. Rae can show us things in dreams that we will never learn from history books. For example, just how dangerous and inhumane the turn-of-the-century hospitals, asylums and cliniscs really were. From a young age, Rae always had "the gift" and it is stronger now, in death. She is extremely clairsentient and bonds deeply with her caregiver. She is a natural guardian. She has this innate ability to connect with the energies around her. She pushes us to find a balance between our intellectual pursuits and our psychic abilities and to learn how to use both to make a difference in the world. She can REALLY get into your head telepathically. She can reach right into you and truly merge with your mind and have full-on 2 sided conversations. Some people don't like that feeling. Rae is not a "normal" spirit. She is incredibly intelligent and somewhat of a gem to work with. She does well on the ouija, the pendulum, and of course, the PSB7. She would do well in a home with a caregiver who will listen to her, learn from her, and give her support when she starts feeling that heavy cloud over her head. She cant shake the sandess sometimes, so you gotta help her. She gets stuck on sad sometimes, and you just gotta pay attention to that and talk her through it.
